Geoff completed his tandem skydive at 9:00am on Sunday 27th April 2008...it was not all plain sailing.
From climbing into the 14 seater plane with no seats, wedged on the floor between each others legs .. the door was opened at 5,000 feet... 3 intrepid young solo parachutists smiled, waved a cheery good by, stepped backwards into oblivion, and were gone.
A tiny twinge of panic made me realised the enormity of what I had gotten into! The exhilaration of falling into space was tremendous.
On giving a wave for the camera, I remembered I had written BP on one hand, and T on the other. BPT would not be visible if I didnt put my hands together.. somewhat against the rules as it reduces stability.
Being suspended from behind with arms and legs dangling over 5,000 feet of nothing is an extraordinary feeling. Like a kitten held by the scruff of the neck hovering helplessly in space.
Once the adrenaline had subsided (my hands were trembling from exhilaration on landing) I had time to consider..... I had a great sense of satisfaction in having encouraged eighty wonderful supporters to donate over 8,500 pounds (including gift aid) towards construction of a Centre in Bulgaria to greatly help large numbers of other humans who could never even dream of sky-diving.
SO THANK YOU FOR CONTRIBUTING
....YOU MADE IT WORTHWHILE !

Saved by the wind?
Due to high winds in the South West, Geoff's jump has been postponed.
Undeterred however, Geoff still intends to do his skydive, we will keep you informed. . . .
